Last week I went to a meeting held by East Tennessee Quality Growth (ETQG), the NGO heading up the transforming of our local elected governments to regionalism (not that they say so on their website). How they put it is, “Our purpose is to create a vision of quality growth through dialogue and education, to promote the implementation of this vision through regional cooperation and local action, and to take other actions for the benefit of the community and consistent with such purposes.” SSDD, or in more acceptable words, they are going to make us do what they want and we are to say how much we love it.
Today, the front page of my local paper has a story, “A village in Bearden,” that reveals the “new urban design,” Mixed Use District Zones for “a greater density of development, or more commonly known as Stack-em and Pack-em housing. This is what we’ve been warning you about Sustainable Development. Look at this description straight from the Knox News Sentinel, “A pleasant place to walk, where someone could actually live, work, shop all on that corridor and could do it in the same building.” (ital. mine) The chickens have come home to roost. We (the anti-Agenda21/2030, pro freedom and property rights citizens) have literally described all this for years. We have shown pictures of it in Seattle, the design for it in an East German book, and the details down to what trees you can plant and how far apart they must be in American Planning Association publications. UN urges global move to meat and dairy-free diet
According to a video embedded in the story, farming causes more global warming than all the trains, planes, cars, trucks, and ships on the whole planet. As Patrick Wood in Technocracy News points out, the UN and its minions want to decimate the beef industry “much the same way that the coal industy has been destroyed.”
But this is just the next slice of the salami to reduce world population.
“Rising affluence is triggering a shift in diets towards meat and dairy products – livestock now consumes much of the world’s crops and by inference a great deal of freshwater, fertilisers and pesticides.”
Both energy and agriculture need to be “decoupled” from economic growth because environmental impacts rise roughly 80% with a doubling of income, the report found.
CO2 is the Demon Because Malthus and Ehrlich Were Wrong About Overpopulation
Dr. Tim Ball gives some fine points on CO2 in Whatsupwiththat blog:
The world focus on CO2 is simply the end objective of a much larger political agenda. The Club of Rome (COR) and then UNEP’s Agenda 21 under Maurice Strong created a political agenda based on certain assumptions all related to overpopulation.
- The world and all nations are overpopulated.
- All population growth is at an unsustainable rate.
- All nations are using up resources at an unsustainable rate.
- Developed Nations use resources at a much greater rate than Developing Nations.
- Developed Nations achieved wealth using fossil fuel driven industries.
- Developed Nations must pay compensation to Developing Nations for benefits gained at their expense and for hardships and adaptation costs involved in dealing with climate change created by CO2.
- Reducing activities of Developed Nations and slowing growth of Developing Nations requires a world government.
- Once a world government is established population control can progress.
Global warming and climate change are simply the emotional threats used to confront overpopulation. The problem is the world is not overpopulated.
