This is Carolyn DeWeese, Tom’s wife. I have some difficult but very urgent news to pass to our American Policy Center family:

American Policy Center President Tom DeWeese, my husband had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Now the good news is that the doctors tell me that Tom is going to be OK.  He’s already off of the ventilator and out of ICU.  And of course he’s already trying to get back to work!

But the doctors are also telling me Tom is going to need much more time to rest and recover from this major surgery.  We’ve tried to explain this to Tom, that he has to put the work aside until he is recovered.  But Tom is worried about what will happen to American Policy Center while he is away!

As Tom’s wife, I am worried for my husband’s health. I am worried that American Policy Center will start to have funding issues with Tom away from the helm.  And I’m worried that my Tom will push himself too hard to keep American Policy Center going, instead of focusing on his recovery.

Can you help me relieve this worry?

Can I ask two very important favors from our key American Policy Center supporters like you?

Will you please fill out the form at the bottom of this email with your “Get Well Soon” reply to Tom, that I can personally deliver to him while he recovers?

And can I count on you to help keep American Policy Center afloat while Tom recovers from this difficult and unforeseen surgery with an emergency donation?

I am going to personally see to it that Tom gets your “Get Well Soon” reply the very day I receive it.  Tom thinks so much of key American Policy Center supporters like you, I know that your “Get Well Soon” reply will help lift Tom’s spirits as he strives to recover from this unexpected and painful surgery.

I have never asked anything of you before.  You know that.  But when and emergency like this crops up, you have to stick together and depend on your friends and family to get through.

We have made great progress in this fight against Agenda 21 but we must keep the momentum going while Tom is recovering.

YOU are part of our American Policy Center family, and I hope we can count on you to help Tom get through this health crisis and back to the work you and I and Tom know is so vital for this country.
