Your River Property is Not Safe From White House Lies

Last summer we warned you that the White House’s American Rivers Heritage Initiative (AHRI) was just another radical environmental land grab.

We warned that this assault would take away your right to control your own private or community development of land along the Rivers.

We warned that the AHRI was nothing short of national zoning controlled by an army of federal bureaucrats.

The White House disputed all of that. In fact, last July Kathleen McGinty, Chairman of Clinton’s Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) boldly and unequivocally told the Western States Coalition Summit that “this is 100% at the option of the local communities. They can stop their participation at any time they choose.”

Based on that White House assurance, locally elected officials, city councils and county commissioners set about protecting their communities by submitting letters and petitions to the White House for exemptions.

Now the true face of the radical environmentalists has been laid bare – just as we’ve warned.

Now we’ve discovered that, contrary to Katy McGinty’s bold assertions, according to Ray Clark in the CEQ office, only Congressional opposition in the nominated River’s district can stop the initiative – and that must be received by January 23rd. Private property owners and local government opposition – HAVE NO IMPACT ON THE DECISION TO DESIGNATE A River !

LEARN THIS LESSON – AND LEARN IT WELL!

THE RADICAL ENVIRONMENTAL AGENDA ISN’T ABOUT FAIRNESS OR TRUTH. IT ISN’T A POLITICAL DEBATE – AND YOU CANNOT TRUST THEIR ASSURANCES. THIS IS A WELL-PLANNED AGENDA AND THEY INTEND TO IMPLEMENT IT – NO MATTER WHAT.

That means that the only way to stop the Clinton Administration from taking your property is to fight them head on. Take no prisoners – and stand clear of their vicious forked tongues!

ACTION TO TAKE:

1. Call your Congressmen and tell them you want them to write letters to the CEQ to exempt your property from the American River
s Heritage Initiative. It must be done by January 23, 1998.

2. Tell your Congressmen to support Helen Chenoweth’s bill H.R. 1842 which will prohibit the Administration from taking any further action on AHRI.

3. Congressmen Young, Chenoweth, Pombo and Schaffer, represented by Mountain States Legal Foundation, have filed suit in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. that contends the Clinton Administration has no legal authority to implement his Initiative and that it violates federal land-management policies enacted by Congress.

Ask your Congressman to join in this suit.

Keep in mind, McGinty also has repeatedly assured citizens and Congressmen that the AHRI is entirely voluntary, contains no new appropriations, includes no new rules or regulations, and exerts no new federal control. You can bet the White House is hiding the truth about all of that too.

DO NOT LET CLINTON IGNORE YOUR RIGHTS – STOP THIS RAW THEFT OF PRIVATE PROPERTY NOW!
