Protest Against Illegal American Heritage Rivers Initiative

Monday (May 11th) is the day the Clinton Administration has chosen to pick the first ten rivers to be victims of the American Heritage Rivers Initiative (AHRI) – a massive, illegal Clinton land grab.

As that dark event gets under way at the offices of the President’s Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), opponents to the AHRI will rally in protest outside.

The American Policy Center, the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), The National Center for Public Policy, and others, are calling on everyone who opposes the AHRI to join the rally:

When: Monday, May 13. 1998 Time: Gather at 8:30 am Place: Near the Offices of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) – 726 Jackson Place (just across Pennsylvania Ave from the White House – opposite Lafayette Park)

Congressman Helen Chenoweth will address the rally.

FURTHER ACTION TO TAKE

1. Call House Speaker Newt Gingrich Phone Number 202 225-0600 Fax Number 202-225-7733 Tell the Speaker to support Rep. Chenoweth’s Bill H.R.1842 – that will stop the illegal AHRI. If Gingrich would get behind this legislation – the Clinton land grab could be stopped.

2. Call your Congressman Phone Number 202-225-3121 Capitol Hill Switchboard Toll-free number – 800-504-0031

Tell you Congressman to support H.R.1842

3. Send this alert to at least five more people, family and friends.

4. If at all possible, bring friends and fellow activists to Washington, D.C. Monday morning to protest the AHRI in person.

AMERICA’S PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS ARE BEING CHEWED UP BIT BY BIT THROUGH INNOCENT-SOUNDING LAND GRABS LIKE THE AMERICAN HERITAGE RIVERS INITIATIVE. STOP IT NOW!
