20 Mar Duplantier Joins American Policy Foundation
Noted Broadcast and Newspaper Commentator
Washington, DC – F.R. “Bob” Duplantier, writer and producer of “Behind The Headlines”, a conservative commentary broadcast daily on more than a hundred radio stations and published one-to-three times weekly in more than 500 newspapers, has joined the American Policy Foundation, an educational foundation devoted to public policy issues.
“The addition of Bob Duplantier to our team marks a major expansion of our ability to reach out to an ever-growing number of Americans concerned with issues that include education, property rights, environmentalism, the United Nations and our national sovereignty,” said Tom DeWeese, the president of the
Foundation. It is headquartered in Herndon, VA.
“As the new producer of Behind the Headlines,” said DeWeese, “the American Policy Foundation will be continuing the great work of America’s Future that, for more than a half century, has championed the conservative response to the challenges facing this nation.” Duplantier has served as the Director of America’s Future since 1995. It is a non-profit educational organization established in 1946 to promote free enterprise and constitutional government.
“This is a perfect match,” said Duplantier, ” since we are philosophically in synch with one another and share a deep devotion to the principles upon which the nation was founded.”
Duplantier has gained fame as well for his “Politickles”, entertaining limericks that comment on political issues and events. A collection of his work was published last year by Merril Press.
“Bob and I believe that both conservatism and the libertarian point of view is on the move in America,” said DeWeese. “The struggle, however, against those who would undermine our educational system, economy, and property rights, as well as threaten our national security and sovereignty is far from over.”
The editor and publisher of The DeWeese Report, a monthly newsletter, DeWeese
is widely recognized for his cutting edge commentary on critical issues in the news. “By incorporating Bob’s ‘Behind the Headlines’,” said DeWeese, “we gain an important and respected voice.”
Duplantier, a native of New Orleans, resides in St. Louis, Missouri. He is married and, with his wife Evann, the parent of six children, all of whom have been home schooled. He graduated cum laude with honors in English from Tulane University, New Orleans, in 1975. Before turning to political commentary and activism, he edited a bilingual regional newspaper, La Gazette des Acadiens, worked in advertising, was a successful freelance writer, and edited The New American from 1986 to 1991.
