Most Americans tend to think of private property simply as a home – a place where the family resides, store their belongings, and find shelter and safety from the elements. However, our Founding Fathers, who had lived under tyrannical monarchs, fully believed that private property ownership was the most important tool for maintaining freedom. John Locke, whose writings and ideas had a major influence on the founders, believed that, “life and liberty are secure only so long as the right of property is secure.” Today, under the trigger word, “sustainable,” private property is under attack like never before, from Smart Growth policies in the cities, to the attacks on the farming industries. APC has made protection of private property our main focus in our fight to preserve freedom. This section provides the many articles we have produced to help Americans understand that property rights must be secure, or tyranny will reign.
